On July 2, it was reported that China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, along with four other departments, recently issued the "Implementation Opinions on Enhancing Manufacturing Reliability." The document emphasizes that the automotive industry should place particular focus on advancing reliability in key areas such as high-precision cameras, LiDAR systems, foundational computing platforms, and operating systems for autonomous driving; intelligent cockpit systems like in-vehicle infotainment, interior monitoring, and head-unit displays; critical connected components including onboard networking terminals and communication modules; and automotive-grade chips—such as high-precision sensors—for use in vehicle control systems. Through multi-level initiatives and collaborative efforts involving multiple stakeholders, the document calls for a sustained improvement in the reliability of these advanced products.

Nationwide passenger car market sales for the fifth week of June

During the 5th week of June (June 26 to July 2), as the month and quarter drew to a close, daily sales reached an average of 76,000 vehicles, with new energy vehicles accounting for an average of 24,000 units per day. Overall market sales exceeded 530,000 vehicles, representing a 3% year-on-year increase and a 4% increase compared to the previous month. Year-to-date cumulative sales stood at 9.5 million vehicles, up 4% from the same period last year.

In the 5th week of June 2023, new energy vehicle sales surpassed 170,000 units, marking the second-highest peak in history—only slightly lower than the surge seen at the end of last year. Sales grew by more than 25% year-on-year, while环比 (month-on-month) growth reached 8%. Year-to-date cumulative sales are nearing 3 million units, representing a nearly 40% increase compared to the same period last year.

Starting from 301,800 yuan, the Denza N7 officially launches on the market.

On July 3, the intelligent SUV coupé—Denza N7—was officially launched, with a recommended retail price ranging from RMB 301,800 to RMB 379,800 across the entire lineup. The new model offers six distinct trims, all equipped with a blade battery boasting a capacity of up to 91.3 kWh. Notably, with the exception of the two Air-series versions, every other trim features the popular Cloud Ride intelligent air suspension system (Cloud Ride-A).

The entire N7 lineup is equipped with the standard version, featuring a single Horizon Journey 3 chip. It comes with 5 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, enabling features such as ACC/LCC adaptive cruise control, ILCA lane-change assist, APA automatic parking—and other functions—delivering essentially L2+ level capabilities.

On July 4, Horizon announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with Four Dimensions Map, under which the two companies will jointly advance business integration across multiple areas, including crowdsourced map updates, ADAS solutions, integrated parking and driving systems, as well as cockpit-integrated platforms built on complementary chip capabilities.

In the future, the two parties will leverage Horizon Journey® 5, a full-scenario, vehicle-integrated intelligent central computing chip, along with Four Dimensions Map's advanced driver-assistance system capabilities, to develop cutting-edge intelligent driving solutions.

At the same time, both parties will fully leverage the advantages of the Journey® series chips, as well as NavInfo’s cockpit chips and MCU chips, to jointly develop a new integrated cockpit system featuring high computing power and advanced integration. This innovative system will seamlessly merge the intelligent cockpit domain with the intelligent driving domain, optimizing hardware resource allocation while reducing hardware costs associated with individual functions.

Black Sesame Technologies Applies for Hong Kong Stock Exchange IPO

Recently, Black Sesame Technologies submitted a listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, planning to list on the main board of the Hong Kong stock market. It is reported that Black Sesame Technologies is the first company to officially submit its A-1 listing documents under the newly effective 18C rules of the HKEX since their implementation.

According to the prospectus disclosed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange website, Black Sesame Technologies plans to use the net proceeds from this fundraising primarily for the development of automotive-grade SoCs for smart vehicles, intelligent automotive software platforms, and autonomous driving solutions, as well as to enhance its commercialization capabilities.

Currently, Black Sesame Technologies primarily focuses on two core, independently developed IPs: the automotive-grade Image Signal Processor (ISP) and the automotive-grade Deep Neural Network Accelerator (NPU). Building upon these two key IPs, the company has already launched two series of high-performance in-vehicle chips: Huashan and Wudang.
