Recently, the General Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Government issued the "Several Measures to Promote Innovation and Development of General Artificial Intelligence in Beijing."

 

The measures mention supporting autonomous driving innovation entities in developing multimodal fusion perception technologies. By leveraging vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) collaborative data and multi-sensor fusion data from vehicle operations, these efforts aim to enhance the multidimensional perception and prediction capabilities of autonomous driving models, effectively addressing the long-tail challenges in complex scenarios while also helping to improve the generalization ability of on-board autonomous driving systems.

 

Meanwhile, support the release of the vehicle-road cooperative autonomous driving dataset as part of the construction of Beijing's High-Level Automated Driving Demonstration Zone 3.0 project.

 

2. Shenzhen strengthens scientific and technological research and development in areas such as general-purpose large models, intelligent computing chips, and smart connected vehicles.

 

 

On May 31, according to the official WeChat account of Shenzhen Release, the General Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government issued a notice announcing the "Shenzhen Action Plan for Accelerating the High-Quality Development and High-Level Application of Artificial Intelligence (2023–2024)."

 

The "Plan" clearly states that we must strengthen scientific and technological research and development efforts, focusing on areas such as general-purpose large models, intelligent computing chips, smart sensors, intelligent robots, and intelligent connected vehicles. It calls for implementing a major AI technology support program, with a particular emphasis on fostering the creation of open-source, general-purpose large models based on both domestic and international chips and algorithms. Additionally, it aims to support key enterprises in continuously advancing the R&D and iterative development of commercially viable general-purpose large models, while also promoting the research, development, and application of versatile embodied intelligent robots.

 

  PART.2 Factory Updates

  

1. May passenger car sales

 

 

In May 2023, BYD sold a total of 240,220 new vehicles, including 239,092 passenger cars—representing a year-on-year increase of 109.4%.

GAC Aion's May sales reached a new high of 45,003 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 114% and a month-on-month rise of 9.7%.

Li Auto delivered a total of 28,277 new vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 146.0%.

Neta delivered a total of 13,029 vehicles across its entire lineup, representing an 18% year-on-year increase. Among these, 2,042 units were sold overseas, accounting for 15.7% of Neta Auto's monthly sales volume.

Leapmotor delivered 12,058 vehicles in May, representing a month-over-month increase of over 38%.

Zeekr delivered a total of 8,678 new vehicles, marking its best monthly sales performance of 2023.

Xpeng Motors delivered a total of 7,506 vehicles in May, representing an 11% year-on-year decline.

NIO delivered 6,155 new vehicles, a 7.6% decrease compared to the previous quarter.

AITO delivered 5,629 vehicles, representing a month-on-month increase of 22.7%.

 

2. Geely Galaxy L7 New Car Starts at 138,700 Yuan

 

 

On May 31, Geely Galaxy's first model, the Geely Galaxy L7, was officially launched. The new vehicle is available in five trims, with prices ranging from 138,700 to 173,700 yuan.

The Galaxy L7 is the first to feature the 8155 chip paired with Galaxy N OS. The 8155 is a mass-produced, flagship-level cockpit chip that serves as the core computing unit for the entire smart cabin system. Built on a 7nm process, it boasts 128GB of storage memory and exceptionally powerful processing capabilities, delivering an incredibly smooth and lightning-fast interactive experience with the brand-new Galaxy N OS.

 

The 540-degree HD panoramic imaging system, standard across the entire lineup in terms of driving configuration, and the L2-level driver-assistance system featured in the 115 km MAX and 115 km Starship versions.

 

3. Li Auto delivered 28,277 new vehicles in May

 

 

Li Auto announced delivery figures showing that in May 2023, the company delivered a total of 28,277 new vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 146%. This marks the third consecutive month in which Li Auto has delivered more than 20,000 vehicles, with the Li L7 achieving monthly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units for the second straight month. As of May 31, 2023, Li Auto’s cumulative deliveries have reached 363,876 vehicles.

 

In May, Li Auto's operating revenue (including VAT) exceeded 10 billion yuan, marking the company's first-ever achievement of a monthly revenue at the 10-billion-yuan level. This milestone also lays a solid foundation for reaching the 2023 target of surpassing 100 billion yuan in annual revenue.

 

As of May 31, 2023, Li Auto has established 314 retail centers across 124 cities in China, along with 319 after-sales service and authorized body & paint centers, covering 222 cities.

1. Qualcomm Continues to Deeply Cultivate the Chinese Market

These components are designed to cater to vehicles across various levels and generations, addressing the diverse needs of smart driving scenarios ranging from NCAP standards all the way up to L4/L5 autonomy.

 

 

2. Hongjing Zhijia Secures Additional Tens of Millions in New Investment

 

 

Recently, Hongjing Zhijia announced that it has secured an additional investment of tens of millions of yuan from Prosperity7 Ventures, a diversified growth fund under Aramco Ventures.

 

This round of funding will primarily be used for the development of next-generation ADAS advanced driver-assistance systems and high-level autonomous driving solutions, as well as for expanding production capacity.
