1. California DMV Releases 2022 Autonomous Driving Test Data
Recently, California's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) released the "2022 Autonomous Vehicle Road Testing Mileage and Disengagement Report." The report revealed that, as of February 25, 2023, a total of 43 companies had obtained autonomous vehicle road-testing permits in California.
Among them, on the U.S. corporate side: Waymo, under Google, has a total of 384 test vehicles, with cumulative testing mileage reaching 2.9001 million miles, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.69%. On the Chinese corporate side: Pony.ai, AutoX, Didi, WeRide, and Light舟智航 have 34, 15, 10, 2, and 1 test vehicles respectively, accumulating testing distances of 80,400 miles, 49,300 miles, 38,300 miles, 7,600 miles, and 2,600 miles, respectively. Notably, their year-on-year growth rates were -8.25%, -1.60%, -5.90%, -97.54%, and -59.03%, respectively.

1. Passenger Vehicle Sales in the Fourth Week of February
In the fourth week of February, auto sales reached 338,000 vehicles, a 13.1% decrease compared to the same period last year, and a 9.63% drop from the previous week. This week, new-energy vehicle sales totaled 113,000 units, representing a week-on-week increase of 11.5%. Compared to the same period last year, new-energy vehicle sales grew by 12.9%, though this year-over-year growth rate was among the lowest observed in recent periods.
In the fourth week of February, sales of plug-in hybrid, pure electric, and range-extended models reached 25,728 units, 79,483 units, and 7,437 units, respectively. Compared to the previous week, plug-in hybrid sales increased by 2.3%, pure electric sales rose by 13.8%, and range-extended model sales grew by 24.2%.
2. Seres and Huawei deepen cooperation, aiming to achieve annual production and sales of 1 million vehicles by 2026.
Recently, Seres and Huawei signed a joint agreement in Shenzhen to deepen their business collaboration. Building on the long-standing and extensive partnership between the two companies in the smart car selection business, Seres aims to achieve annual production and sales of 1 million new-energy vehicles by 2026.
Both parties further clarified the specifics of their collaboration. Seres will leverage its industry resources to drive the application of cutting-edge technologies, materials, and processes to the co-developed vehicle models. Meanwhile, Huawei Consumer BG will fully capitalize on its strengths—such as advanced intelligent driving capabilities, the HarmonyOS cockpit, and innovative digital and user-experience designs—to provide empowering support to Seres. Additionally, the two sides will jointly advance the establishment of a joint innovation center.
3. The Lynk & Co 08 will be equipped with the Flyme Auto in-car system by Meizu.
On February 28, Lynk & Co announced its latest model—the all-new 5-seat new-energy SUV, the Lynk & Co 08, previously spotted online under the codename "DX11." Additionally, the new vehicle is expected to debut with Meizu's FlymeAuto in-car system, potentially making its first public appearance alongside the launch event for the Meizu 20 series.
The biggest highlight of the new car lies in its interior—beyond the adoption of a floating-style central control screen, what’s drawing the most attention is Meizu’s FlymeAuto in-car system. According to previous announcements from Meizu, FlymeAuto brings over the familiar “Negative One Screen” concept from smartphones, enabling seamless connectivity between mobile phones and the car’s infotainment system. As a result, this new model is expected to become the first vehicle powered by Meizu’s advanced technology.
4. Tesla's Investor Day announced that production has reached the 4-million-vehicle milestone, with a goal of building one car every 45 seconds.
On March 1 local time, Tesla's Global Vice President Zhu Xiaotong announced at the company's inaugural Investor Day event that Tesla reached the milestone of producing 4 million electric vehicles in 2023. He also noted that the company's Gigafactories aim to produce one car every 45 seconds. Currently, Tesla operates four electric vehicle Gigafactories, but more factories are still needed for future expansion.

1. Horizon and BAIC sign a strategic cooperation agreement; mass-produced collaborative models will begin rolling off the assembly line starting in 2023.
Recently, Horizon Robotics and BAIC Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement, further strengthening their business collaboration in the intelligent driving sector.
According to the agreement, Horizon Robotics and BAIC Group will jointly develop market-leading intelligent driving solutions. Leveraging Horizon’s full range of Journey chips—including Journey 2, Journey 3, and Journey 5—BAIC Group will drive the research, development, and deployment of smart features across several of its own-brand vehicles. The first mass-produced vehicle resulting from this collaboration is expected to hit the market within 2023. With this partnership, all ten of China’s top-10 automotive companies (by sales volume) in 2022 have now entered into mass-production collaborations with Horizon Robotics.
