The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Transport, jointly with relevant departments, have issued a notice launching a pilot program for comprehensive electrification of vehicles in the public sector across China. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce has clearly indicated its intention to guide local governments in further optimizing the environment for new-energy vehicle use—covering aspects such as license issuance, charging infrastructure, and traffic access—and emphasized that policies encouraging and supporting the development of new-energy vehicles continue to be rolled out.

1. Third week of February passenger vehicle sales
In the third week of February, passenger car sales reached 308,001 units, representing an 8.62% increase compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, in the seventh week of 2023, new-energy vehicle sales rebounded to over 100,000 units, with weekly sales totaling 101,000 vehicles—averaging 14,400 units per day—and marking a week-on-week growth of 17.44%. As of the seventh week of 2023, cumulative sales of new-energy vehicles stood at 528,000 units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, though the growth rate has begun to slow down slightly.
Last week, sales of new energy pure-electric vehicles reached 69,800 units, with average daily sales nearing 10,000—up 27.3% year-on-year. Meanwhile, plug-in hybrid vehicle sales totaled 25,200 units, growing more than 20% compared to the same period last year, while range-extended models saw weekly sales close to 6,000 units.
2. "Intelligent Flagship SUV" Starway Yaoguang Officially Launched
On February 21, Chery's premium brand EXEED officially launched its all-new SUV, the Yaoguang. The new vehicle is available in six different models, with prices ranging from 152,800 to 202,800 yuan. Built on EXEED’s M3X Mars Architecture 2.0 platform, the Yaoguang comes standard with a 12.3-inch dual-screen setup, the Lion Smart Connectivity System, and a Snapdragon 8155 chip, positioning it as a mid-size SUV.
In terms of driving assistance, it features 1 standalone intelligent driving domain controller, 2 forward-facing cameras, 4 surround-view cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, 4 corner-mounted millimeter-wave radars, and 1 front-mounted millimeter-wave radar. In addition to the 21 basic ADAS functions, it also includes 11 advanced intelligent driver-assistance features such as AVP autonomous valet parking and NOC highway navigation.
3. Geely Galaxy Makes Global Debut, with the First Model, the L7, Officially Unveiled
On February 23, Geely officially launched its new mid-to-high-end new energy series—“Geely Galaxy”—at a global debut event. Over the next two years, Geely plans to introduce seven models under the Galaxy brand: four will be smart electric hybrids, while three will belong to the intelligent pure-electric lineup. The first model unveiled, the Galaxy L7, is expected to begin deliveries as early as the second quarter.
The Galaxy series' first mass-produced vehicle, the "Geely Galaxy L7," is a smart plug-in hybrid SUV. In terms of features, it boasts a four-screen interactive system featuring a 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 13.2-inch central control screen, a 16.2-inch passenger-side display, and a 25.6-inch AR HUD. It also comes standard with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and includes the optional "Queen's Seat" for the front passenger—truly a luxurious and tech-forward ride.
In the realm of intelligent driving, leveraging Geely's satellite-based "Space-Terrestrial Integration" Galaxy Intelligent Driving solution, Galaxy Intelligent Driving can promptly bring the vehicle to a stop when encountering stationary targets during high-speed cruising at 90 km/h. Looking ahead, Geely's Galaxy Intelligent Driving system will also be the first to mass-produce cutting-edge technologies such as cross-layer memory parking, high-speed emergency antelope obstacle avoidance, and low-speed exploration and traversal capabilities.
4. Ideal AD Pro comes standard with high-speed NOA functionality.
Recently, Li Auto's L-series vehicles received a major OTA update, officially rolling out the standard Highway NOA feature equipped with Li Auto AD Pro. The Li Auto AD Pro system now offers users Highway Navigation Assist (NOA), leveraging sub-meter-level high-precision positioning to enable autonomous overtaking, adaptive speed adjustments, and seamless entry/exit from ramps—effectively reducing driver fatigue during long-distance trips.
Additionally, AD Pro has been updated with features such as straight-line summoning, construction zone map alerts, and lane-departure assist. AD Pro is the world's first mass-produced intelligent driving system powered by Horizon Journey 5 chips. In terms of smart applications, a new feature has been added that displays traffic light countdowns on map navigation, enhancing the visual experience when approaching intersections. Furthermore, the system now also shows additional information like road signs and construction zones.

1. Infineon Announces Groundbreaking for Chip Factory in Dresden, Germany
Recently, Infineon announced the start of construction on its new factory for analog/hybrid signal technologies and power semiconductors in Dresden, Germany, with planned production beginning in 2026. The facility is expected to create approximately 1,000 high-quality jobs.
Infineon plans to invest a total of approximately €5 billion in the facility, marking the company’s largest single investment in its history. Under the European Commission’s state aid decision and national funding procedures, Infineon’s project will receive financial support aligned with the objectives of the European Chips Act.
