Zhejiang Sunny Optical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunny Optical Technology") has been awarded the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management System ASIL D certification certificate by TÜV Rheinland Group, a third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization based in Germany (hereinafter referred to as "TÜV Rheinland").
Recently, Zhejiang Sunny Optical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunny Optical Technology") was awarded the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Management System ASIL D certification by TÜV Rheinland Group, a third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization based in Germany (hereinafter referred to as "TÜV Rheinland"). This milestone signifies that Sunny Optical Technology has successfully achieved certification under the functional safety management system.
Introduction to ISO 26262
ISO 26262, the automotive functional safety standard, is a globally recognized standard for automotive functional safety developed by the International Organization for Standardization. It covers the entire lifecycle of automotive-grade products. Both process-system certification and product certification under this framework enjoy high recognition within the automotive industry and have become one of the key entry barriers for electronic component suppliers looking to enter the automotive sector.
Especially for complete vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, compliance with the ISO 26262 standard is a mandatory requirement for developing and producing automotive safety-related components. This standard covers various aspects, including functional safety requirement planning, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, and configuration. By following a robust development process, it effectively minimizes the risk of failures in automotive electrical or electronic systems, thereby ensuring the functional safety and reliability of automotive products.
TÜV Rheinland is one of the earliest international third-party certification bodies to launch functional safety services in China, and it also participates as a member of the editorial committee in the development of the ISO 26262 standard, lending it significant authority.

This certification process took less than one year—from project initiation to the completion of the audit—despite coinciding with the most severe period of the domestic COVID-19 outbreak. Yet, within the company, the project continued to move forward vigorously. Through rigorous standard training, thorough interpretation of standards, meticulous process development, preliminary audits, and the final official review, team members remained dedicated and meticulous in tackling each task. As a result, the project successfully achieved its goals on schedule. Shunyu Zhiling Technology demonstrated exceptional execution capabilities and strong team cohesion, laying a solid foundation for the company’s future growth and development.
