Recently, the weekly sales ranking for China's new energy vehicle brands (August 28 – September 3) was released, showing significant changes compared to last week. Overall, BYD, Aion, and Tesla firmly hold the top three spots with an overwhelming lead.

In the first week of September, Li Auto, the new EV manufacturer, recorded sales of 7,400 vehicles. At this pace, Li Auto’s monthly sales for September are likely to remain around 35,000 units.

This week, the Tesla Model Y once again topped the sales charts with 10,200 units sold, followed by BYD Seagull and Aion Y from GAC Aion, which recorded weekly sales of 8,100 and 8,000 units, respectively.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class concept car is built on the MMA platform and marks the first model developed for this platform. The vehicle features a low-slung, coupe-like silhouette with a fastback design. Key design elements—including the headlight and taillight clusters, the closed-off grille, and the panoramic roof—incorporate the iconic three-pointed star motif. According to Reuters, U.S. semiconductor company Qualcomm announced on September 5 that it will supply chips needed for in-vehicle infotainment systems to luxury automakers Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

According to reports, Qualcomm said in a statement that it will supply chips to BMW for enabling in-car voice commands. Additionally, Qualcomm announced it will provide chips for the next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class model, which is set to launch in the U.S. in 2024.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said in an interview that he expects Qualcomm's automotive business revenue to reach $4 billion by 2026, rising to $9 billion by 2030.
