1. China Automotive Technology & Research Center Officially Releases C-ICAP's "China Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technical Regulations"
The China Automotive Technology Research Center recently released the C-ICAP "China Intelligent and Connected Vehicle Technical Regulations," which cover areas such as advanced driver-assistance systems, autonomous driving, intelligent cockpit technologies, and information security—and will be implemented in a phased approach.
The newly released version 1.0 of C-ICAP focuses primarily on evaluating the driving assistance and parking assistance features included in the "Advanced Driver Assistance Systems" unit, with full implementation expected to begin in 2023. The China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) plans to introduce a comprehensive evaluation system by 2025.

1. December Week 4 Passenger Vehicle Sales
From December 26 to January 1, the final week of 2022, the automotive market recorded total new car sales of 652,700 vehicles, averaging 93,200 units per day. This represents a 0.2% decrease compared to the previous week, but a significant 68.65% increase over the same period in November. Notably, sales from December 26 to 31 reached 609,000 vehicles, while registrations on January 1, 2023, totaled 43,500 units—still down 7.9% from the same period in 2022.
Sales of new energy pure-electric vehicles reached 111,500 units, averaging 15,900 units per day. This represents a 17.7% decrease compared to last week, but a notable 16.65% increase compared to the same period last month.
2. 2022 New Energy Vehicle Sales Released
Aion's cumulative sales for 2022 reached 271,000 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 126% and setting a new record for sales growth rate.
Neta Auto achieved annual deliveries of 152,073 vehicles, representing a year-on-year growth of 118.26%, making it the best-selling brand among the new automotive forces in 2022. Neta had set a sales target of 150,000 vehicles for 2022 and successfully met this ambitious goal.
From January to December 2022, Li Auto delivered a total of 133,246 vehicles. As of December 31, 2022, Li Auto’s cumulative deliveries reached 257,334 units.
In 2022, NIO delivered a total of 122,486 new vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 34% and continuing to lead the high-end pure-electric market. As of December 31, 2022, NIO had cumulatively delivered 289,556 new vehicles.
In 2022, Zeekr Motors delivered a total of 71,941 vehicles for the entire year, surpassing the company's initial annual target of 70,000 units, achieving a fulfillment rate of 102.8%. 3. BYD: The Yangwang brand officially launches, with the U8 and U9 models making their debut.
On January 5, BYD's high-end brand, Yangwang, was officially unveiled, along with its core technology, "Yi Sifang." According to official statements, the "Yi Sifang" technology will be standard equipment across the entire Yangwang lineup. Meanwhile, the million-yuan-class new-energy hard-core off-roader U8 and the million-yuan-class all-electric performance supercar U9 also made their debut simultaneously.
The Yangwang U8 is the brand’s first mass-produced model, positioned as a premium, all-electric, hardcore off-roader priced in the million-yuan segment. Its exterior features the distinctive "Time and Space Gateway" design language, seamlessly blending futuristic and technological elements into the vehicle’s overall aesthetic. The Yangwang U8 will adopt a non-load-bearing body structure.
The仰望U9 is positioned as a million-dollar-level all-electric performance supercar, equipped with the versatile Yi Sifang powertrain system and delivering 0-to-62 mph acceleration in just under 2 seconds. In terms of design, it also embraces the "Gate of Time and Space" design language, with starry-look headlights inspired by outer space—and features butterfly doors for an ultra-sophisticated opening experience. The car’s overall aesthetic not only retains classic supercar design elements but also seamlessly integrates a futuristic, electric-age vibe.
4. Qichen partners with Horizon to jointly develop an intelligent driving platform, and the first co-developed model will enter mass production in 2023.
Recently, Horizon Robotics announced a new collaboration on an intelligent driving project with Dongfeng Nissan's Changan Nissan-branded sub-brand, a leading domestic Japanese joint venture automaker. According to the plan, Dongfeng Nissan's new Changan Nissan intelligent driving platform will be equipped with Horizon's Journey 3 chip and the Horizon Matrix® Mono 3 monocular vision perception solution. The first model is expected to debut in 2023.
The intelligent driving platform will adopt the Mono 3 monocular vision perception solution, built on the Journey 3 chip. This marks the first time an 8MP automotive front-facing camera has been successfully mass-produced and implemented. The solution efficiently meets the growing demand for enhanced ADAS experiences in mid-to-high-end vehicle models. Leveraging the Journey 3 chip, the Mono 3 solution will empower Dongfeng Nissan's Venucia brand to deliver advanced, next-level intelligent driver-assistance features.

1. Horizon: Journey 3 Powers the Mass Production of Advanced NOA for the All-New Geely Boyue L
Recently, Geely Auto hosted the all-new Boyue L "CMA Intelligent Experience Day," offering for the first time a test-drive opportunity to experience its advanced NOA intelligent driving feature. The new Boyue L is equipped with a cutting-edge intelligent driving technology platform—a domain-control system integrating parking and driving functions, featuring 6 cameras and 5 millimeter-wave radars. This includes one 8-megapixel front-facing camera, one 2.5-megapixel rear-view camera, four 3-megapixel surround-view cameras, one ultra-long-range millimeter-wave radar, and four long-range millimeter-wave radars, forming a sophisticated 6V5R fusion perception system.
